I love December, not because of the holidays or snow or even great retail sales in my bookstores. What I love about this time of year is the reflection on the past year and a focus on what I want for the next year. Below you’ll find some ways I am planning for 2023, and in addition I’m digging back into enneagram in a more formal way as I prepare to teach for The Invitation in January. I’ve studied the enneagram system for a long time and am trying to distill that knowledge down to a few key ideas to excite and intrigue the students for this course.
For those who are interested but don’t know their type, I highly recommend The Enneagram Institute’s test. It costs $12 but is worth it.
My personal favorite teacher Beatrice Chestnut just released a new test which is $40. I haven’t taken it yet but all her work is so solid I’m sure it is good.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be talking about our enneagram types, and how they may be useful to us in planning for 2023 as well as getting through this busy season.
Feel free to comment and ask questions regarding the enneagram. I LOVE talking about it.
FYI, I’m an 8 and it took me a while to get clear on my type. For a long time I thought I was a 3. Some clarifying questions from a teacher really helped me land solidly on my type.

Year Ahead Spreads
It’s that time of year, and I am so excited. December gives us the opportunity to set intentions for the following year, and one of the ways I do it is through a tarot year ahead spread. It is quite simple but I use it all year long. With help or alone you pick a card for the year and put it at the center of your spread. Last year mine was the High Priestess. I knew I wanted to use my intuition to move through the year in a more spiritual way. Then you select twelve cards which surround your card of the year, each representing a month. Then you document it via photo or writing it in a journal or planner. As you begin each month you have a direction, an idea, an intention or energy to help guide you.
If you would like my help guiding you through this process, feel free to contact me directly or sign up on my web site for a reading.
